The FHSB Chair, Cllr Anne Allan opened the AGM and welcomed all members and thank them for their attendance.
The minutes of the inaugural meeting on the 17th Jan 2008 were accepted as a true record of the meeting.
Anne then gave her report that concentrated on the highlights of the year. She mentioned the setting up of the Family History Centre, the Website and the recent Official Opening. Last years Scottish Week and the open meetings proved to be successful events.
She finished by thanking the various agencies and people that have assisted in our formation. Particular mention was made to the ANEFSHS for all their advise and assistance.
Next, the Treasurer, Alan presented a financial statement regarding the FHSB annual accounts prior to being forwarded to the OSCR. The Society had had a good year financially but their are major issues ahead. One being the cost of foreign currency accounts. The financial statement was accepted by the membership
Next on the agenda was the amendments to the Constitution. This involved the replacement of the Librarian post with the post of Family History Centre Manager and the splitting of the Treasurer and Membership Secretary post .
Then the 2009 Committee was elected, as only nine members had nominated themselves then no election was required The positions on the 2009/10 Committee are:
